Extremely poor management. The leaders dance around complaints from staff and take advantage of their passion and work ethic. Many staff are demoralized and the ability to move up is rarely an option. They frequently hand out better titles, but pay is minimal and decent raises are unheard of. Workloads are also atrocious as the organization has a tendency to bite off more then they can chew.
