My main concern is how communication and offboarding were handled when the assignment came to an end.
The working arrangement involved Oliver James as the agency and an end client where I worked day to day. In practice, important information about the continuation of the role, contract status, notice, and termination was not communicated clearly to me.
Near the end of the assignment, I asked for an update because my contract was approaching its end date and I needed to know whether I should continue holding off on other opportunities. The response I received was vague and suggested that the matter was still being confirmed. Based on documents I later received, it appeared that termination was already being discussed internally at that time.
The end of the assignment was handled abruptly. I was not given meaningful detail at the time, and I was left trying to understand the situation after the fact. In my view, the process lacked transparency and did not reflect the seriousness of ending someone’s work arrangement, especially where notice terms and future employment decisions are involved.
I also found the post-termination communication difficult. Important points around notice, payment, contract status, and the reason for termination were not explained in a clear or satisfactory way.
