Great Staff and High Job Enjoyment, Poor Management and Culture - Library Specialist Omaha Public Library Employee Review

Staff is comprehensively dedicated to service objectives and roles as public servants.

Very few, if any, and the only ones I can think of I largely attribute to regional culture differences. I'm not from the Mid-West so acclimating to the culture with this position being my first job after I moved, was largely the reason's for any challenging experiences; none of them really had to to with the library.

-Wonderful coworkers -Strong sense of community at the branch level -Rewarding work with patrons and families

-No benefits, PTO, or sick leave for part-time employees -Management avoids difficult conversations and lacks transparency -Long-term service and loyalty are not valued -Reassignments and staffing decisions made without input or consideration -No support when facing personal or professional challenges
