Pros

Reasons to work for OGP are plentiful. The management kind, caring, and driven, the company feels like a family, getting to work with truly passionate and intelligent people who are really out to make a difference. Plus lunch every friday.

Cons

This isn't a job for anyone who wants to work 9-5 and forget about it when they leave their desks. Individual team members have a lot of responsibility, but the flip side of that is that everyone gets to make their own unique contributions without any micromanaging.

Pros

-Work is never dull. You get a variety of assignments and collaborate with some of the biggest organizations in the social impact space. -You don't feel like just a cog in the machine. Your input and autonomy are valued. -Co-workers support each other well and communication is consistent. -The work is very fulfilling

Cons

It's not necessarilly a con, but there was a bit of a learning curve the first few months to feel comfortable with the workload and navigating the sheets, documents, SOPs, etc. But I think that's a fairly common challenge within any organization.

Pros

I loved working for One Green Planet! They're a tight knit working group dedicated to creativity, fun and innovation. I've never worked with a group of people more ethical, open to ideas and suggestion or more willing to walk the walk. They don't merely employ people, they push for them to be their very best in a truly nurturing environment. I learned more in the year+ that I was employed there than any other working environment I've ever been in. I genuinely felt that I was not only doing something I loved every day, but something that was making a difference in the world. There just aren't that many jobs out there that offer that kind of description.

Cons

That I couldn't replicate myself like Stewie did in that one episode of Family Guy so that I could do more. Truly, I don't really have any cons. If not for family concerns that required I leave the workforce, I'd still be onboard. Dream job. Pay was in line with that offered by other publications for a similar amount of experience/job title and workload was as expected for a media start up experiencing the incredible growth that they are.
