Pros
The Business Network group (was GXS and Easylink) plus ANX now feels like a real team and has some really smart people to support the sales process. In all fairness, the new organisation is much more accountable and effective than the pre-acquisition GXS and so it is a much easier place to work (with a couple of exceptions) We are also seeing the benefits of greater access to other solution to enhance the Business Networks offering (analytics and mobility) and significantly more investment in product development and professional services. A new Reading office has created a much better cross functional feel to the business and it certainly encourage discussion and interaction with the other business units

12 months ago I would have given OpenText a 0/5 rating, it was just awful, micromanagement was bizarre, what was GXS was cut right back to the bone and it was nearly impossible to work in the business. That seems to have changed, we have the right level of resources and clearly our local leadership has the power to act. Some of the offshore back office functions are still ineffective and marketing needs a lot of improvement, but no company is perfect. Sadly despite regularly meeting or exceeding all my objectives, I have not had a pay rise in 4.5 years, it doesn't take much to keep employees engaged but zero pay rises are a great way to disengage people. Very easy to change. Lastly as a business we are very hand to mouth, the quarterly pressure is huge which then means we trying to drag business from the next quarter so perpetuating the issue. With 9-18 month sales cycles, this is a tough call.
