Pros

A somewhat stable, large software firm that allows for a decent work/life balance. Compensation is on the low side of average in the industry. People are mostly talented, but morale is low.

Cons

Senior leadership has created a cloudy corporate culture, emphasizing micro management and CYA paranoia. Staff are not valued as the major asset of the company. The leadership has designed a disjointed strategy focused on revenue growth via acquisition, and not internal growth through excellent products and happy customers. No customers really want to buy our stuff; they have to because we are so sticky in their business process.

Pros

Pros was that you had a job (and not for long if they find a way to outsource your position in the company).

Cons

Cons are so many to list, but from the leadership in this company being so out of touch with his/her employees, the restructuring done in their company to save some bucks on their end was crazy brutal, firing all of their talented workers to implement automated programs that did not function properly. Overall, horrible experience with OpenText, lies upon lies when it came to growth opportunities and keeping teams in the dark, no communication what so ever. Their business practices were just plain terrible.
