Work life balance was non-existent at times. If you give them an inch, they'll take a mile. There were multiple employees who would pull upwards of 20+ hour days from time to time, sometimes for multiple weeks, and management (read: the CEO and COO) didn't care about overworking any of us. The company culture was toxic, morale was low, and most of upper management was oblivious yet still somehow micro-managed everything. The turnover was consistently high and caused a strain on employee morale.
Upper management's view on remote work is archaic, ignorantly stubborn, and borderline negligent, especially when it came to inclement weather. Multiple employees were forced to take PTO during a state of emergency because their manager wouldn't allow remote work and the employees couldn't make it into the office.
