Pros

While the company offers stable employment, there is limited emphasis on employee growth, development, or work-life balance. Leadership lacks transparency, and communication is often fragmented, creating a challenging work environment. Overall, the company culture feels stagnant and unresponsive to feedback, leaving little to recommend as a positive aspect.

Cons

The company is plagued by poor leadership, especially at the director and associate director levels. The directors are often unapproachable, disconnected from the teams, and resistant to feedback, which creates a hostile and demotivating atmosphere. The associate directors lack direction and support, frequently passing their responsibilities down without accountability. This management style results in a lack of clear communication, poor project management, and minimal regard for employee well-being.

Pros

Nice people by and large, but people are generally nice in most places. Friday drinks if you like that sort of thing An active social organisation if you like that sort of thing Good industry relationships People respect Orms in related industries The projects are finely detailed and they care about good design Site visit London projects Well educated employees to interact with

Cons

6months bedding in period before you get to know if you’ve made it No flexible working Strict policies on their employees The worst thing at ORMS however: They have an insane indoctrination about their woke policies. Mental health this inclusion that. It’s all utter rubbish. Because they do not practice what they preach, the biggest being the mind games middle management play with their employees. For example the interviewer not welcoming you to the company on your first day but ignoring you not acknowledging your existence. Or being hot and cold with their bahviour. I would prefer working from home, a laptop, more than statutory (20) holidays and better pay. I moved office from Orms and had a 5k pay increase, 5 days more holiday, wfh straight away and a laptop to work flexibly from. I’m much happier, even though by design standards my new employer would seem beneath the likes of Orms, they’re a much happier group of people to work with. Go to Orms only if you have no other options.
