Many of the issues I describe are those which I have experienced, though to varying degrees, in every healthcare setting in which I have worked. The items with an asterick were unique to Outreach
*Working in an unsafe environment- several employees cars had been stolen or had bullet holes in them.
Solutions I identified were dismissed because, " That's not how we do it".
Poor communication, all requests were urgent and popped up randomly, without warning
Absolutely no support team around me. I had no mentor or senior staff to assist me because nobody who worked there understood my skills/responsibilities
*When I was forced to go into the office I felt isolated. Nobody talked to me. I'm guessing it was because I was white.
Pay was far less than it should been
