Pros

Great manager. He really seems genuine and cares about the people underneath him. Flexible work schedule. You will learn to have a good conversation with almost anyone. You will find your breaking point and how to overcome it.

Cons

The concept of Outset Events is very confusing. I went in thinking it would be a "marketing job" but in reality it is just a sales job at local stores/companies. You sell basic products and it is very hard to reach the sales goals they set. Since the goals are hard to meet, you usually just end up getting minimum wage. Throughout the interview process, the job sounds very intriguing. However, it has very little to do with marketing. To be completely honest the job just sounds to me like a big pyramid scheme. The more people you get underneath you, the better chance you have of getting promoted. You do have to drive your own vehicle to and from job sites so there is a lot of wear and tear since we do drive pretty far places. Lastly, they expect a lot of your time outside of work. You are constantly having to meet with people, talk on the phone, and email/text after you have already got off of work or on your days off. On your "days off" you still have to go to meetings. Very draining and time consuming job for very little reward.

Pros

I love working for Outset. There's so much opportunity for growth. There's no seniority or hierarchy, it all depends on me and my work ethic and how quickly I want to get promoted into Management. The team is supportive to help me reach my goals and the CEO is freaking awesome!! He is super inspiring and is empowering because he treats me like a business partner and not just an employee. He takes the time to mentor and coach me to help me reach my personal goals. I have so much respect for him. He is the best.

Cons

It depends on the person what they define as negative. It's not a career for the individual who wants to coast or be comfortable. This position is for people who are eager to learn, grow, and accept challenges to get them into a higher position in the company and their lives as well.

Pros

You get experience to put on your resume. You meet all kinds of people, constantly. You gain so many skills. I now know how to control a conversation, how to address various situation that arise, how to behave in a professional business setting and I learned a lot about myself. (i.e. my breaking point). The opportunity for growth is incredible! As a student this is a great internship.

Cons

Time commitment. Exhaustion. You are mentally and physically being pushed at all times. Its extremely fast paced! (One month feels like a year). You've got to be in it to win it! As a student it wasn't feasible for me to grow as much as I would have liked in this position (as part time). But definitely something I recommend to do at least once in your life.
