Pros

Small company so there is room to explore and experiment. laid back environment. Great titles and very nice authors that you get to work with. Very interesting reading materials with some opportunities for big media. Very nice staff and fun to work with them.

Cons

Very difficult working relationship with management. They are very harsh and do not relate to the employees. Bad morale in the office.

Pros

The staff at Overlook are overworked and under-appreciated, but against all odds, they manage to put out an astounding amount of quality books. My former colleagues were some of the brightest, most talented, funniest, and patient people. If I could be thankful for anything from this hellish experience, it would be that I had the opportunity to befriend them.

Cons

In short, the management at Overlook is ruining the company one delayed meeting, one re-scheduled pub date, and one enraged author at a time. The publisher refuses to step down from his position because his inflated ego has convinced him the company can't stand on its own. What he doesn't understand is that he is the source of nearly all the company's problems.
