Pros

I made some really good friends while working at PHMG.

Cons

Unethical Contract Practices: The use of rolling contracts with substantial fees, often without clear client understanding or consent, raises significant ethical concerns. Intense Work Pressure: The company culture, driven by expectations of 'irrational commitment', creates a highly stressful and demanding work environment. Team Target Penalties: Even when individual sales targets are met, failure to meet collective team targets can result in punitive measures, unfairly impacting individuals. Manipulative Management Techniques: In certain departments, especially Client Services, management strategies often lean towards manipulation rather than positive leadership, adversely affecting team morale. Favoritism and Unequal Treatment: The apparent preferential treatment of certain groups of employees, such as semi-professional footballers who they target in their recruitment so their company football team wins, contributes to a workplace culture of inequality and unfairness. Inappropriate Company Events: Some company events, including the Christmas do, have exhibited behaviors and activities that cross the boundaries of professional conduct. Mandatory Charitable Contributions: The enforced nature of charitable contributions, sometimes directly deducted from wages, undermines the voluntary spirit of charity and adds to employee grievances. Lack of Transparency in Billing Clients: The quarterly billing strategy, designed to minimize client noticeability of charges, raises questions about transparency and fairness in client relationships. High Employee Turnover: A high rate of turnover, particularly in sales roles, reflects the challenging and often unsustainable working conditions. Coercive Work Practices: The overall work culture at PHMG, marked by strict discipline and coercive practices, significantly impacts employee well-being and job satisfaction.

Pros

My experience at PHMG has been such a fun and rewarding opportunity, especially for someone with little to no experience in sales. It’s a great place to learn, grow, and build confidence while being surrounded by people who genuinely want to see you succeed. The culture is one of my favorite parts. Everyone is very welcoming and approachable, always willing to answer questions or offer advice. Since it’s a great starting point for someone new to sales, you never feel like you’re figuring things out alone. The team is supportive, and there are so many opportunities to learn from the people around you. I’ve also really enjoyed the networking opportunities and getting to connect with so many different people across the company. PHMG does a great job creating a fun environment where people work hard but also enjoy what they do. Overall, it’s been an amazing place to start a sales career and build a strong foundation. The skills, relationships, and experience you gain here can set you up for success in future sales roles as well.

Cons

none! I loved my time here.

Pros

PHMG is a great place to breakout in a sales role and gain experience. They offer a 15 week training program called the Academy, where you get first hand coaching, product knowledge and training, and dive head first into an SDR role with constant feedback and support. You also get the commission you earn right away, with a lot of potential to earn extra cash and fun events such as President's club. I was able to attend after my first month and they really want you to experience the fun incentives. Once you graduate the Academy they move you over to a team on the senior sales floor where you still receive constant coaching and support. The team environment is motivating and keeps each day exciting. Everyone is always there to lift you up and keep pushing you to succeed. The culture and environment here is like no other and I was lucky enough to find some of my closest friends at this role. Definitely a work hard play hard mentality where we celebrate the small and big wins daily.

Cons

It is a grind, there are going to be hard days where motivation is hard. It is very metrics focused and you will be cold-calling all day everyday. Kind of the typical entry level role that comes with sales.
