Planning work Often happens when fieldwork begins - seniors are few and they have good ones and a small pool of others. So if you don’t get a good senior, your on the back foot - audits time always extended as they are never resourced sufficiently first time. This leaves seniors feeling like they are always underachieving. - constant moving staff off jobs to fill and backfill delayed audits, so your team can change. Client experience doesn’t seem to be prioritised - not a great atmosphere and vibe from junior members working for you as I had a number of people off work - too much responsibility to younger team members with often insufficient and inadequate learning and development on the job. L&D hard to give when you are time pressured -standard of quality of audits very different to my expectations but most managers are ok with this. I assume as they have come through the ranks and not experienced a career elsewhere but they are comfortable with the standard of audits
Pros
Securing my role at PM+M was one of the highlights of my career so far! I couldn't wait to start and it does exactly what it says on the tin! Best decision I made, I love my team, manager and everyone in the wider firm is lovely. I plan to stay here a very long time and hopefully progress. As it remains an independent firm, the culture is supportive and progressive, I love how they are investing in their people and technology, in all sorts of different ways.
Cons
Honestly there isn't really any, the commute from home is a little further than I would usually go for but that's a choice I made and I am super happy with that due to the hybrid flexible working
