After only a week after starting at PP+K I realized I had made a HUGE mistake when I left my former employer to come here. The culture of the place is sexist as hell, and not at all "family" oriented. I was told in the interview this was an ego-free environment (by the owner), turns out it is 100% the opposite. The owner is blind to the actual culture of the place, or he willingly looks the other way.
The creative department likes to think they foster team work and collaboration, but what they actually foster is a cutthroat adversarial environment of work. Everyone is fighting to look better than the next person, and people WILL push you under the bus at the first chance they get. Unless you're hanging out with the "right" crowd, you're on the chopping block.
Turn over was intense while I was there. There was at least one or two people fired every month from different departments. And from what I hear, it's still the same.
The creative department directing is incompetent at best, malicious at worst. There is no knowledge on how to manage people (you will be ignored you if management doesn't feel like dealing with the issues you raise), they push for the most cliched or dumbest ideas and don't really have a clue of what they are doing.
Work life balance doesn't exist. They expect you to live there. And it's frowned upon to leave at a normal time. They sweeten the deal with the beer and the Foosball table, but don't fall for it. And of course, when you are salaried there is no overtime. Your opportunities to advance depend greatly on who you hang out with, and how much of a work-life balance you are willing to sacrifice.
