Pros

As someone who has been involved in the advertising space for about 5 years now, I would say PPK has been the healthiest agency I've worked at. I've worked at large agencies and small ones and nothing has compared to PPK. However, in my time here, I have noticed that staff tend to be significantly underpaid than the value you they bring to the table. There are so many talented and hardworking people at this agency, however, upper management refuses to pay a salary to lower level employees (not director level) that is far from acceptable for the work we are doing and the area we are living in. Don't get me wrong, Tampa is not NYC but it also isn't cheap and the agency has recognized that but refuses to give raises or salaries that are appropriate for the workload and area. This year, no one received raises supposedly due to the economic climate we are in with client's making budget cuts and what not. This is understandable, however, they are still awarding promotions with no pay raise. Overall, I have loved working for this agency, the account and the people. The energy here is unlike anything else I've experienced (in a good way), but PPK does NOT pay their employees what they deserve and what they are worth, which in this day and age is unacceptable.

Cons

Mediocre pay compared to other agencies and industry standards

Pros

Really talented designers and art directors but the CDs that don't do any of the hard work are the ones that get the credit and high salary Winter break Cool office space

Cons

CDs are insufferable and are not a resource If you challenge anything you are a black sheep Money problems that lead to layoffs and no raises No more summer fridays No clear direction on how to progress - when asking about what to do to get promoted there is no clear answer No check ins besides annual reviews HR is only there for the upper people and will not help a regular employee If you ask for clarification you are told you are asking too many questions The list goes on
