Pros

Smart colleagues, sample sales, good brands for the resume

Cons

Without a doubt this was the low point of a 15+ year career. For some reason, PVH still operates with a 1990s approach to HR, wherein employees are reviewed singularly by their manager and no one else - which means a lot of insecure and/or unqualified people have gotten into upper level roles and then clung to their positions for dear life, undercutting those working beneath them. Compounding this is the fact that some lockdown-era leaders + management are still working 100% remotely, residing in low cost of living places while making NYC salaries, whilst all the plebs under them were forced back to the (shockingly hideous/terrible) office and paid well below market and industry rate, going broke living in NYC. Finally, underscoring this, for the last couple years there were waves of layoffs and unrelenting budget cuts, the demand to do more with less, and a complete lack of recognition of reward for teams who managed to do so. It was completely demoralizing on a daily basis. “I need therapy” levels of bad - the corporate gaslighting and devaluation tactics were unreal. People left at a shocking rate and leadership did nothing about it, didn’t even address it. The biggest shame was seeing my very talented and smart colleagues treated like absolute garbage. Leadership seemed to truly believe that all talent is replaceable and therefore not worth investing in - they often insinuated or outright said that we should feel lucky to have our jobs at all. This never-ending loss of talent and knowledge set our work back over and over. Raises are rare, promotions are rarer, bonuses are basically nonexistent, forget any perks like corp-sponsored holiday parties or happy hours. Felt like working at an underfunded nonprofit with a caste system.
