Pros

I have worked for Park IP (a Welocalize Company) for several years. Surrounded by a great culture and courteous/helpful colleagues, there is room to grow in an evolving and expanding company. Growth wasn't as clear in the past, but the company has worked hard to develop and implement clear career paths. Management regularly checks in with you to provide feedback regarding your progress, and to see how and where you want to grow. They are also willing to help you move to other business areas within Welocalize (as a whole), should it be in the best interest of you and the company. The work itself will keep you busy, but both the work and experience is rewarding and provides you with a professional skill set. The company prepares you professionally in the aspects of reporting, data analysis, customer service, finance, global teamwork, and project management. There is clear communication with management, and a dedicated team to train you, support you, and help you grow.

Cons

Immediate IT support is great, but problems with software and company specific programs can take time to receive assistance/resolution.

Pros

fellow project managers were really nice to work with

Cons

Having worked at Park, it's simply a fact that competitors in the patent translation/filing industry pay more and offer better benefits, while at the same time offer a shorter work day for project managers. I experienced the bonus pool for project managers get completely slashed for no other reason than welocalize's (that's the parent company) policies. I literally sat in a meeting with a group of Project Managers where a senior manager expressed how unfair it was that outside investors weren't getting the ROI they were expecting due to Park not meeting budget (which was an unrealistic goal to begin with), as if PM's care or have a choice about such investors or the cut they take in profits at the expense of the backbone of the business, the project managers . To those considering working at Park, you'd be crazy not to do your due diligence and apply to direct competitors and weigh your options. There are not that many competitors with an IP translation specialty to even consider, if that's the industry you're interested in. I also experienced a manger where there was not even a pretense of a pretense of caring about my growth in the company. none of my colleagues had a career path defined, it was just managing projects and nothing else on the horizon.
