Pros

Most of the employees are great people.

Cons

As part of the Sales team, I was brought in to help new and existing Agents to increase business. I was to speak with these agents and push to get “One more deal”. Normally, this would not be an issue. PayBright blew me away with the complete lack of training. I was told to start making calls with zero training. I was not trained on equipment, pricing, or how to help with the MANY customer service issues facing the Agents. In fact, on two occasions of attempting to learn more about the business, I was told to Google it. This was coming from a C level employee. Not the answer I was expecting. I did try to stress the lack of training was a big issue for the work expected of me, but no changes were made. Results were expected regardless. With no support from Management, we were forced to lean on current employees to get answers. When the CEO found out I was talking to another employee to get answers, I was told I was not to speak with anyone else because that was taking time away from their jobs. I was spoken to multiple times about this as it was the only way to get answers for Agents. CEO - Do not recommend. He was extremely condescending. He will micro manage each department even though there are managers and other C level execs that were supposed to be the head of their respective teams. Often would “listen in” (customers could not hear him, just the employee) on calls and talk over the customer yelling at us for providing wrong information. Again, no training. He cursed at multiple employees in front of the entire office. It was not uncommon for him to belittle employees on company calls. I have been in the industry for many years and this is without a doubt the worst CEO I have ever worked for. The amount of fear made for a horrible work environment. It is hard to enjoy your job when the entire office walks on eggshells to avoid the CEO. A former employee was written up for bringing a box of equipment from the front desk to the Deployment team. Not having ever been told only Deployment can TOUCH the boxes, She obviously quit the next day. The turnover was crazy. While I was employed there were four other people that started the same job as me. All of them quit within two weeks due to the unprofessionalism and no training.

Pros

This job can be intense at times. Fast paced. But the job is very rewarding. You get to help people and solve problems. Some people complain that training isn’t great but really this is an industry you need to learn from experience. There’s no way to be trained for all the situations. Definitely need thick skin to deal with the customers but it can be a lot of fun too. Most of them are great and the coworkers and managers are a lot of fun too.

Cons

Need thick skin. Some days are very high volume.

Pros

Amazing core team, who truly want to do great work and have great personalities and skills. The product/service itself is doing well and the company is growing and making a lot of money.

Cons

CEO is the single most toxic individual you may ever encounter. He comes across as charming to begin with, but the minute the smallest error (or perceived error - it doesn't even have to be real) occurs, he will berate, demean, and outright yell until he runs out of steam. He has literally only ever worked in this role and has never experienced any other work environment, but is convinced (and will tell you outright) that he knows all there is to know about business and that he's always the smartest person in the room. Whomever is running the PR on LinkedIn and other platforms has either never set foot in the office or is completely fine with lying outright. The turnover rate is atrocious, and is mainly due to almost no structured onboarding or orientation - new hires are expected to just figure it out, many times being thrown into the deep end with little to no experience/information, and then penalized for making mistakes. Zero accountability at the highest level, as well as no delegation or actual middle management. Employees who are classified as managers don't have any real authority or autonomy, and they know better than to ever make a single decision without clearing it with the CEO. PTO is a joke - barely any time for new employees, and a 90 day waiting period before PTO can even be used - God forbid you get sick in those first 90 days - CEO will act like it's a capital offense, and then act like he's being so gracious by allowing you to take an unpaid day off. Pay is below market average for actual employees, while contract/freelancers get rewarded like kings - makes sense since CEO is seeing all the profits and keeping his personal margins high. Overall just an extremely toxic place to work. It's a shame, because there are some truly wonderful people there, but until CEO takes a giant step out (which will likely never happen), nothing will get better.
