Pros

PayBright does an excellent job at hiring a diverse range of individuals. I had a great time working and getting to know my colleagues. The other team members are all wonderful people who work hard and will always try to support you as best they can. PayBright clearly does a good job at hiring great personalities which I really appreciated.

Cons

LITTLE TO NO TRAINING: Starting as a new employee at PayBright was a disorganized and overwhelming experience. There was little structure or guidance provided to help navigate what is a complex and delicate financial system. PayBright employs a "sink or swim" approach to training, expecting new hires to struggle until they eventually find their footing. While some may thrive under such conditions, it is unreasonable to expect success without proper instruction and support. The lack of a comprehensive training program sets employees up for failure from the beginning. HOSTILE WORK ENVIRONMENT: One of PayBright’s biggest challenges is the presence of the CEO in day-to-day operations. While direct involvement from leadership can be an asset, in this case, it only serves to exacerbate the already toxic culture. The CEO's soft skills are severely lacking. In my experience, interactions with him were dominated by aggressive, accusatory, and often bullying behavior. Phrases such as "You have cost our company $5,000" were commonly thrown around, without any consideration of how the lack of training and inadequate support led to these situations in the first place. For example, the CEO would frequently interrupt ongoing customer calls, speaking over both the employee and the customer, creating uncomfortable and unprofessional interactions. This left me and many of my colleagues feeling undermined, frustrated, and confused. POOR WORK-TO-PAY RATIO: The workload at PayBright is unreasonable. Employees often take back-to-back calls throughout the day, yet are reprimanded for making errors or not keeping up with email tickets, despite receiving no support to balance these tasks. This creates an impossible situation where employees are set up to fail. As a result, many of us felt compelled to stay late or work a little on the weekends just to clear our email queues and avoid falling behind for the upcoming week. This pressure to work outside of hours without any recognition or additional compensation highlights the imbalance between the demands of the job and the compensation provided. HIGH TURNOVER: The high turnover rate at PayBright speaks for itself. Employees are constantly cycling in and out of the company, which is unsurprising given the toxic environment and unrealistic expectations. WEAPONIZED AT-WILL EMPLOYMENT: PayBright takes full advantage of "at-will" employment laws, using them as a weapon rather than a standard employment policy. I was terminated without warning and given no reason for my dismissal. There was no effort to address or discuss any potential issues with my performance prior to this decision. Even after I was let go, I was advised to reach out with questions, only to receive a cold, default response: "We are an at-will employer and therefore are not obligated to share any details of your termination." This demonstrates a clear and complete lack of transparency and respect for employees. Finally, adding to the unprofessionalism, I was fired at the end of my day, and even tasked with completing urgent work on the day I was fired. Despite being assigned a high-priority task 45 minutes before my shift ended, I was terminated immediately after completing the work. This not only suggests that my contributions were still valuable up until the very last minute, but it also highlights the contradictions in how PayBright treats its employees. The way my termination was handled felt abusive and unnecessary, further underscoring the deep-rooted issues within the company.

Pros

Most of the employees are great people.

Cons

As part of the Sales team, I was brought in to help new and existing Agents to increase business. I was to speak with these agents and push to get “One more deal”. Normally, this would not be an issue. PayBright blew me away with the complete lack of training. I was told to start making calls with zero training. I was not trained on equipment, pricing, or how to help with the MANY customer service issues facing the Agents. In fact, on two occasions of attempting to learn more about the business, I was told to Google it. This was coming from a C level employee. Not the answer I was expecting. I did try to stress the lack of training was a big issue for the work expected of me, but no changes were made. Results were expected regardless. With no support from Management, we were forced to lean on current employees to get answers. When the CEO found out I was talking to another employee to get answers, I was told I was not to speak with anyone else because that was taking time away from their jobs. I was spoken to multiple times about this as it was the only way to get answers for Agents. CEO - Do not recommend. He was extremely condescending. He will micro manage each department even though there are managers and other C level execs that were supposed to be the head of their respective teams. Often would “listen in” (customers could not hear him, just the employee) on calls and talk over the customer yelling at us for providing wrong information. Again, no training. He cursed at multiple employees in front of the entire office. It was not uncommon for him to belittle employees on company calls. I have been in the industry for many years and this is without a doubt the worst CEO I have ever worked for. The amount of fear made for a horrible work environment. It is hard to enjoy your job when the entire office walks on eggshells to avoid the CEO. A former employee was written up for bringing a box of equipment from the front desk to the Deployment team. Not having ever been told only Deployment can TOUCH the boxes, She obviously quit the next day. The turnover was crazy. While I was employed there were four other people that started the same job as me. All of them quit within two weeks due to the unprofessionalism and no training.

Pros

The company itself seems to be a good competitor within the industry. The solutions are good for the Sales people in the field.

Cons

The CEO micromanages every facet. There are other leaders in place but he never gives them the true lead. He will interrupt you while your talking. Becoming very demeaning and degrading. The CEO has the biggest ego and never thinks he could be in the wrong. He listens while your on the phone with a customer and talks in your ear (not helpful) while in the middle of the conversation. In my time there a few people quit pretty quickly after seeing the initial training and onboarding is a joke. No organization whatsoever. Most toxic work environment I've ever been in. Zero culture.
