Pros
I am passionate about helping other people discover and explore their sexuality. The sales position allows me to share my passion and I get paid to talk about sex all day with customers..Doesn't sound bad, right? If you want to learn how to get comfortable with approaching and engaging customers, this job is a good fit.
Cons
Pay is VERY poor in comparison to how much is expected from sales associates and assistant managers. Minimum wage, and the only attainable way to get extra money on your paycheck is through spiffs. The spiffs don't offer much incentive... Sell a $200 toy and you get $3-$5 on your paycheck...But that's before taxes. Spiffs are considered a bonus, so take off 60% of that and you end up with about $2. You've spent 30 minutes with that customer, explaining in excessive detail why they need this latest and greatest G spot vibrator. Once you've finally convinced them, you can't stop there. You need to push other items on them to maintain your units per transaction. Having to implement an aggressive sales approach for an extra $2 on my paycheck is hard to justify. The company is $52 million in debt, although upper management will tell you that there is room for growth and career potential.
