Pros
You have to be involved in all aspects of a project from hardware design to user acceptance testing. Due to size, projects are low-volume / high spec' / prestige vehicles. You'll get lots of experience, fast.
Cons
No legitimate software licences, no budget - scrat around for kit, if you're not there your lash-up rig will get robbed or messed-with. Paranoid environment. Disciplinaries given for "receiving personal email on company laptop", "phoning in late when off sick"... Saw colleagues getting publicly shouted at / victimised, Asked to lie to colleagues, other managers and customers. Company owners do not get involved / only talk to managers, who keep everything sewn-up between themselves.
