Pros

The people you work with on a daily basis are nice

Cons

Cruel layoffs of lower level staff made by management whilst they are going on “leadership” retreats and travelling the world, poor sales projections and they will suspend benefits for review without telling anybody until they try to use them. They expect a lot from people but do not pay enough for the work being done, unless you are one of the friends of senior leadership. Nepotism is rife.

Thank you for sharing this with us. Layoffs are challenging for impacted employees and their colleagues. We were incredibly sad to say goodbye to members of our team at all levels of the business and did our best to make the day as clear and kind as possible. However, we know that any layoff is hard and are sorry to hear how it affected you. As a young startup, we are continuously reviewing benefits for usage and satisfaction, and as a company working with global customers, we encourage remote work and travel—one of our greatest Perchy Perks! We know there are processes to be built around these aspects of our culture. Maturing our policies and offerings isn't a quick fix, so we really appreciate this feedback about how changes affected your experience at work. We wish you well in your future endeavors.

Pros

- Fantastic leadership - Teammates and Leadership value your opinion (very safe place to be vocal and challenge) - Everyone is so quick to take action when needed - Personal life and work/life balance is valued - This team is so bought into the PerchPeek mission, direction, and goals - Pay and benefits are very competitive - The relocation market is massive with lots of opportunity for PerchPeek to continue to grow and disrupt the market - The people are genuinely so amazing and love to have fun even in the midst of working relentlessly

Cons

- Bandwidth has been stretched at times but leadership is taking action to resolve - This industry can be challenging to learn if you aren't familiar with it

Pros

company retreat and remote work policies were generous and made for a great culture on the surface, pay was fine, very nice people

Cons

management seemed weirdly desperate to avoid confrontation. nobody was ever on the same page and sales/product strategy changed constantly main complaint: the overly cheery company culture concealed a lot of conflicts that it would have been healthier to have out in the open. actual vibe was definitely above average for a startup (mostly due to the people), but weirdly, more people at PP seemed eager to privately express their dislike of each other. I think that’s sadly a direct result of the culture. it all just felt a bit immature. it was obvious for months that they needed to massively downsize but the way they handled it in the end was really weird - reading a script by HR and then cutting account access. maybe it’s just “how things are done”, but then what was the point of pretending to be different? I think most people would have appreciated a simple 5 minute chat with management. can’t think of anyone who would have left with hard feelings under those circumstances sad to write this, but I’d suggest looking elsewhere if PP survives - even for the cushy roles in eng and prod. it feels like a company run by people who have never run a company - which is fun until anything goes wrong

Hi there - thank you for taking the time to share this feedback with us. We’re sorry that your positive experiences at PerchPeek didn't last through the end of your time with us. We're glad you developed bonds with other team members and enjoyed perks, but it unfortunate to hear that your day-to-day experience was inconsistent or unclear. As we mature the business, our leadership team and ways are working are maturing too. Growing pains are real, but nurturing a healthy feedback culture is top of mind for the People Team and leadership. We know there is always room for improvement, so thank you again for sharing your experience. We wish you the best in your future endeavors.
