Pros

- Unlimited holiday. - Salary is reasonable-ish and pay rises can be negotiated. - Promotions were possible and there is room to move around within the company. - Nice colleagues, I made some good friends.

Cons

- Upper middle management are two faced, spiteful and unprofessional. - Extreme micromanagement. - Fire people on the regular with little to no warning and for no good reason. - Some teams are so overworked whilst others have nothing going on. - Management make employees feel worthless and like they're never good enough. - Working harder doesn't get you anywhere, if they decide they don't like you, you're done regardless of your professionalism and hard work. - If you're put on a PIP (performance improvement plan) - start searching for another job and don't bother trying to complete the PIP, this is how they fire you the easy way. - I've seen colleagues so stressed out they cry every day and get signed off and then treated terribly over it. - You work over your hours every day without fail and without compensation. - Not transparent about anything at all ever. You find out you're fired by being locked out of your accounts and other people know you're fired before you do. - Mental health, what's that? They don't care. They pretend to - but literally do not and will probably find a way to fire you because of it. - If you accidentally get on the wrong side of someone in management, they'll do whatever they can to get you fired even if you've literally done nothing wrong. Textbook example of a mismanaged, toxic work environment. Don't let the unlimited holidays and happy family cult culture entice you.

Pros

The people you work with on a daily basis are nice

Cons

Cruel layoffs of lower level staff made by management whilst they are going on “leadership” retreats and travelling the world, poor sales projections and they will suspend benefits for review without telling anybody until they try to use them. They expect a lot from people but do not pay enough for the work being done, unless you are one of the friends of senior leadership. Nepotism is rife.

Thank you for sharing this with us. Layoffs are challenging for impacted employees and their colleagues. We were incredibly sad to say goodbye to members of our team at all levels of the business and did our best to make the day as clear and kind as possible. However, we know that any layoff is hard and are sorry to hear how it affected you. As a young startup, we are continuously reviewing benefits for usage and satisfaction, and as a company working with global customers, we encourage remote work and travel—one of our greatest Perchy Perks! We know there are processes to be built around these aspects of our culture. Maturing our policies and offerings isn't a quick fix, so we really appreciate this feedback about how changes affected your experience at work. We wish you well in your future endeavors.

Pros

Colleagues in your immediate are fantastic to work with Fully remote Unlimited annual leave Fair pay

Cons

Very brutal layoffs, the entire company was added to a massive zoom call and told about "terrible investments" which required "significant" downsizing/layoffs which was then followed by the CEO saying "You'll find out in the next 15 minutes if you still have your job" before the call was abruptly ended This caused a huge panic and a lot of stress for everyone, nobody knew what to expect The layoffs never felt right because management always spoke in lengths about management retreats (one of which happened for 2 weeks a month before the layoff), pointless company retreats that must have cost a lot of money too Sadly Perchpeek is one of those companies too where it's insanely easy to get on the bad side of management, stepping a toe out of line will land you with a target on your back and you might as well start looking for another job Review periods always seemed to revolve around "how are your colleagues doing" a lot too which always came across as a weird attempt to pit staff against each other Benefits are great but don't let that make you put your guard down, one mistake at Perchpeek can cost you your job It's also worthwhile mentioning that a lot of teams and staff were visibly burnt out too, it was also a common conversation topic between staff regularly too, unlimited annual leave and mental health days did exist but always felt like you were looked down on for using them

Hi there, thank you for taking the time to share this feedback. We’re sorry that the positive experiences you had at PerchPeek were so greatly impacted by the layoff. Of course, layoffs are challenging for everyone and there's no one right way to manage the process. We did our best to be clear, kind, and quick throughout the day, but understand it wasn't perfect. We’re proud to offer health and wellbeing days, but it is unfortunate that you didn't always feel comfortable using them. This is a great reminder that we have more work to do to communicate how and when to utilise benefits and perks so that all of us can feel our best at work. Thank you again for raising this feedback—it will be taken to heart as we work towards empathetic policies, processes and offerings.
