Pros

They moved into a nice building in Huntsville that has ample parking and is close to restaurants. Their marketing and PR is fantastic. Lies, but really nicely packaged lies.

Cons

Too many to list. Toxic culture bordering on hostile. Actions indicate funding is in question. Nepotistic hiring practices are prevalent and they’re not hiring the best candidates as a result. They especially like power plays: moved into the new building in Huntsville, and about 20 of us didn't get cubicles when everyone else did, and there were empty cubicles available. They wanted us to use desks that barely had enough space to fit our monitors and laptops - so they can monitor our work. Don't believe their press in the Huntsville area - they write up and fire people regularly for no reason, so the "new hires" are mostly replacements, not to manage their business "growth". The US drone market is saturated. PDW wanted a piece of it, but they couldn't deliver products to support the orders they received.

Pros

This is not a company where you show up, sit down, and collect a paycheck. People here are counted on—on their skills, their experience, and their ability to take ownership and actually get things done. I’ve seen reviews complaining about a lack of leadership, culture, and processes, and that hasn’t been my experience. This is a place where you work with your team to build those things. A company doesn’t magically come with a perfect framework—you create it with the people around you. That mindset is reinforced from the top. The new CEO is an awesome guy. I’m not high up in the company, yet he knows me by name—and that matters. He’s not off playing golf or hidden behind layers of management; he’s on the floor with us, engaged in the work. That kind of presence sets the tone for accountability and collaboration across the company. PDW is growing rapidly, and with that growth comes real responsibility. I’ve learned a great deal while working here—new technologies, new challenges, and how to collaborate effectively across teams. The pace and expectations aren’t for everyone, but they create real opportunities to learn, contribute, and make an impact. Some of the one-star reviews seem to come from people who struggled with that reality. Fast growth, accountability, and ownership can be uncomfortable if you’re expecting clearly defined lanes and minimal responsibility. The people here are real. The work is real. I’ve met some of the most intelligent, driven, and down-to-earth people at this company. We’re laying the groundwork now, and this place is going to thrive.

Cons
