Pros

If you can make friends with the ex Roche and Ventana staff. You can do anything you want. You’ll be compensated well, get to go on trips and they might even get you an aparment. Your bonus will be high because you’ve made it to the “in club”

Cons

The “in club” has no idea how to manage an NGS company. Throws money down the toilet and has fun doing it.

Pros

If you're part of the "in-group" and/or are willing to sweet-talk your way into management's good graces, there are good career growth opportunities, especially for those just starting out in their career.

Cons

If you're not part of the "in-group," there will be no promotions or growth opportunities for you. If you push too hard to be given opportunities, you will be forced out or fired. High turnover rate because it's not worth sticking around to be paid poorly compared to other biotech companies AND be given no opportunities (and have to watch the sycophants get promotion after promotion because they're willing to tell management exactly what they want to hear). Management is incompetent. They went on a hiring spree but then laid a large number of employees off on Christmas. They don't seem interested in taking care of their employees except for members of their in-group, even if that means jeopardizing the overall success of the company. The technology they're selling isn't the most competitive in the personalized and companion diagnostics field. Other companies have better science and better products. They've resorted to sometimes manipulating their data in order to seem competitive. Warning: The in-group has since started another company called Delfi Diagnostics. Some of the PGDx in-group has migrated to Delfi to essentially give themselves promotions/pay raises with the move, but be aware that it's still the same people running the show.
