Pros
PMSI is amazing! My coworkers are all intelligent, professionals people, and our business is an exciting environment that I'm happy to be a part of. There are no cliques, and there is no drama between coworkers. Every manager in the company is extremely good at managing; they give their direct reports autonomy, but also support them and provide guidance when employees need it. No micromanagers here! Just fair, supportive leaders who encourage their employees to have a good work/life balance. Many employees have grown to the position they are in at the company, so career opportunities for advancement are definitely available. In addition, PMSI is certainly the most transparent company I've ever worked for. Jack, the CEO, is not only a great CEO and leader, but he's also an incredibly nice person who conducts his business in an honest and straightforward manner. PMSI provides a unique service to our clients, and does a great job training employees when they come on board so that they can get up to speed quickly and learn the processes and procedures necessary for success at PMSI. The current benefit package is great, and can be somewhat customized for your needs. For candidates considering PMSI for employment, if you don't plan on contributing to the team and pulling your own weight, save yourself some time and don't apply here! PMSI has high standards, and I don't see them tolerating slackers!
Cons
It can certainly be busy, but I think most people who succeed at PMSI thrive off of that busy energy. It's easy to get sucked into your work (because it is interesting and exciting) and slack on maintaining your own work/life balance, but that really needs to be managed at the individual level and can't truly count as a significant detractor towards the company. My only real complaint is that I think the PTO package should be a bit more generous in order to compete with similar positions in the industry and in the northwest.
