Pros
Once it is 5pm you don't have to think about work. You definitely will never take home with you at this company and I don't mean that because it's a role which is full time in the office but as in nothing you do at this company will be worth thinking about outside of work.
Cons
-No work from home option. -very low salaries especially for this economy. They constantly say they will think about discussing increasing salaries but never do. -Complete utter lack of connection with other departments I was there nearly a year and never knew anyone outside of the 8 people in my team. - There is nothing to do. Like genuinely nothing to do even if I wanted to do something I couldn't. I wondered if it was just me but this company is full of people who just do nothing, I don't understand how it functions but yeah everyone in the company is just getting paid to sit at a desk for 8 hours a day then leave. -The company has very little care for Work culture of the UK for example the Christmas drinks hosted for 300 staff members were hosted in Essex. When I say Essex I mean like 45 minute commute on train from central London then you need to pay for an uber to get to this hall in the middle of nowhere, county Essex. Did not serve traditional christmas food but curry instead and other south Asian food. The bar tab was ridiculously low as well. To attend this Christmas drinks it would cost you roughly £40 because you have to pay for an uber and your own drinks just to hang out with colleagues that have no care for you. It was also on a Friday which is not common practice as your Fridays are supposed to be for yourself not hanging out with colleagues. -I have changed office 4 times in under a year and not by choice - The wifi is awful, so imagine you have nothing to do and no wifi. It is literal hell. - Staff do not care about you. - Most importantly the company makes profit off of immigrants who want student finance. Less than 5% of the students they recruit actually want to study a degree. We speak to Romanians or Albanians every day who call up asking how much money they will be getting and we ask what do you want to study? and they always respond "What do you offer?" and then they choose a degree the same way someone may choose what they'll eat for lunch because it doesn't matter to them. They only want the money. This is a conflicting thing because they try to put you under pressure to get as many students as possible but I don't want to help people take advantage of an already struggling system that is student finance. A system which was supposed to make academics but instead is abused.
