Pros

Reading the mixed reviews, I wanted to add my own perspective on working at Plastiq. I interviewed with 9 start-ups and had multiple offers before joining Plastiq. I came to work here because I loved the focus on helping SMBs and I found the leadership team to be uniquely engaged and low-ego. I have not been disappointed. Yes, we have had lay-offs, as is typical of all start-ups (and larger companies) who are learning and adapting to new information and business situations. In my experience, to be successful at Plastiq, you should enjoy working at high speed, be adept at communicating proactively and often, and find exhilaration in charting new waters (which can cause things to shift rapidly). I feel incredibly supported by my immediate team at Plastiq and leadership has always been open to hearing my ideas and feedback. Of course we do not have it all ironed out, but I sense a real commitment from everyone I work with to keep improving and doing better. We have a lot of fun working together, and I respect and learn a lot from my colleagues too!

Cons

Priorities can shift very quickly, which makes it challenging to adjust the supporting goals all the way down the chain. More formal conversations about this with Managers to their staff would be helpful, as a lot can get lost in translation via slack or in fly-by conversations.

Pros

Plastiq always had a great culture of trust, caring, ownership, curiosity, continuous learning, respect and collaboration. A team that really feels like a family and works to help each other. It's also a great turn around story of a business that constantly chased dreams and operated with millions of losses to one much more grounded and focused on building a real business that drives real customer value and turned profitable within a couple of quarters.

Cons

It's a very demanding place focused on driving business and customer value, which could be a con to people who just want a job and be heads down, but at same time energies others who wants to see success.
