Pros
Owner is very passionate about the company and it's success Many of the people are very nice and easy to work with Breadth of daily job-related-tasks is something you won't see at many other companies (keeps things fresh and interesting) Work with all types of manufacturing industries so one gets to see a wide product range. Project focus is solution oriented and many of the engineers develop excellent problem solving, project engineering, and even project management skills. Great benefits package
Cons
Breadth of tasks can, for some, be overwhelming. Project timelines can be disorganized. Projects don't focus on meeting the time and material costs quoted. This leads to 2x or even 3x the time dedicated to Mechanical design, Electrical design, Programming, or Test and Debug than what was originally intended within the same project time frame (occasional OT, other tasks outside project become delayed, sometimes project due dates are late). Very little upward mobility within departments. Supposedly there are talks of implementing structure within some departments, but as of Q1 2024, there is an engineer, and then that department's manager.
