Pros
The pay was good but not worth it.
Cons
Since parting ways with Prime, I've been mulling over whether to share my insights. As someone well-versed in the IT realm, I feel it's crucial to shed light on this organization.
Over the course of my career, I've collaborated with around 4 different contracting firms, and Prime definitely stands out as the least appealing.
They don't exactly go out of their way to cater to your needs. The individual I reported to, if you can even call them a boss, seemed to brush off my emails regarding my day-to-day concerns. And if I did manage to get a response, it was pretty much just to say do whatever was asked of me.
Within a mere 2 weeks of joining, they decided to slash my pay. When I tried to address this, I was met with silence. Once again, my emails were left unanswered. On top of cutting my pay, they also altered my working hours despite lengthy discussions about my availability. They did have a phone conversation with me about it, but I hoped it would be an opportunity for them to make amends. Unfortunately, it boiled down to the same old directive of just doing as told.
They kept assigning tasks that were way beyond my job description. When I raised this issue, they insisted that I was required to take on responsibilities outside of my designated role. Once again, it all came back to concerns about day-to-day operations.
They pushed back on my request for a day off due to religious observances.
Despite being promised federal holidays off in my offer, it turned out that wasn't the case in reality.
The individuals at the helm of this company seem to lack the integrity and honesty they claim to uphold on their website.
My suggestion? Do not waste time with Prime, especially if you're aiming to kick off your IT career. Look for opportunities elsewhere instead. Trust me, you'll be glad you did!
