Pros

I worked in the Surveillance Unit and loved my supervisors and coworkers. It is a very friendly environment and the higher ups and easy to approached. Surveillance unit was awesome about having unit potlucks, just to get everyone together and keep the moral up. There's a vast variety of experience you can get from here, from typing speed, report writing, contact with attorneys and clients, surveillance knowledge and tactics, etc. Oh and fresh fruit constantly in the break room!

Cons

The pay isn't ideal and it's difficult to move up in the ranks. There isn't a great opportunity for growth, unfortunately.

Pros

Bosses and employees cared about their work. People followed through on tasks and committed to being excellent and having integrity. Raises were actually in the $’s and you felt acknowledged financially and in your work.

Cons

Very high expectations and stress.

Pros

As a field investigator for 3 1/2 years I have found the job very exciting. We make our own schedules, meet new people constantly, and work independently once fully trained. The job is also challenging in that we must meet deadlines to keep happy clients but management assists with balancing the workload when needed. Management also consistently asks how your workload is rather than just demanding that you take on an unrealistic caseload. Of course, being organized and self-driven is the key to managing your caseload, and key to an investigator's success. The company is growing which is a tribute to the integrity and stability of management and the employees they hire. My favorite part of the company, other than the investigative work itself, is the life/work balance. We make our own schedules so doctor's appointments, errands during the day, etc. are ok as long as we get the work done and can be reached if needed. I cannot comment about what it is like to work in the office because the investigators work from home. We can drive up to 4 hours from home for an investigation, but we are paid for driving. PROBE has become great with rewarding good things that employees do which I thought was lacking just a bit when I first started. Management is always looking for ways to improve and they listen. If you are independent, self-motivated and like to be in different places everyday, PROBE field work is for you!

Cons

Sick time is not paid, but you can use PTO for that if you need to.
