This is a prime example of how poor leadership can ruin an entire organization. The mid-leadership team is filled with people who are not qualified for the job but were still hired through "strong recommendations" from leaders at the company. Since January of this year, the retention rate has been declining despite 2024 being a very rough job market. I would be curious to see how many people would choose to stay once the job market improves. Also, don't believe it when they say they care about you and your growth opportunities, because this is 100% a lie, unless they can benefit from it directly.
