Pros

The company has a fantastic mission and there are a lot of smart young individuals with loads of potential.

Cons

Progyny is a revolving door, once people realize how terrible it is they usually bounce as swiftly as possible. Half of these reviews are fake and written with in a day or two of a negative review, which has become a common practice of the HR department- its all fake news! Look out for another one with in a couple of days to try and neutralize this review. If you are thinking of applying for a job here, read between the lines on the glassdoor page or contact a past employee on LinkedIn.

Pros

THE CEO is a rock star it's clear she doesn't need to be doing this. The unfortunate thing is she's surrounded herself with weakness. The COO is a disaster. Mistake after mistake, hiring the "wrong" people then quickly firing. Maybe it's you? The CTO says we're going to have a single algorithm to predict an individuals fertility chances. No we're not and if we did the scientific community would have this already. Most of the emails I receive from him are about the Wi-Fi and email neither of which work in the office.

Cons

The turnover. The smart people smell a rat right away and usually leave. Senior level people that had direct relationship with our end clients all left within six months of hiring Demotions for senior level people. Hello?? Why do you stay ? The smarter tech guys were either fired or quit. The new patient care advocates don't receive enough training to be successful. In the end there is a product called SMART which in a way is very ironic since most employees left are very C level. SMART is just a dumb way of saying we're going to be the middle man between you and the fertility clinic. The margins aren't there and in cases where you have a prestigious clinic the margins are negative. That's right Progyny foots the bill!! The brutal truth is if you're even considering the remote possibility of working here don't. If you read through some of the positive reviews about this company you can see they are all BS. They say it's a startup but it's not. It's a wanna-be insurance company moving in the direction of having fraudulent analytics and tech.

Thank you for your feedback. We are working to create a culture of transparency and engagement across all areas and offices, starting from the top down. We always appreciate, employee feedback on what can be done better. As the company pivots from the merger of Auxogyn and Fertility Authority last year, we have undergone many changes, including moving the headquarters to New York. We understand that the move was difficult for some employees and many areas of the legacy business were transitioned out. We are entering a new chapter in Progyny’s growth including the additions of our CTO in January this year and CFO in May. In just the last quarter the team has grown by 39%! We have high expectations for the company, with equally high performance goals for each person. Aggressive growth can be challenging and not everyone will meet the bar, we will continue to keep it high and look for exceptional people. And we always look to improve on what we do for our team.

Pros

The idea that the company has chosen to run with is a good one, although not proprietary. The good news is that it may not last much longer as there is an "iceberg, straight ahead" in the form of cash burn and the need to raise funding in an environment that would be challenging for companies that are profitable.

Cons

Internal strife, poor office culture, large layoffs, and fear permeate the organization. Management pits employees against each other resulting in a toxic environment, for all except the office spy (who may be the author of the recent positive but generic reviews.) Our company was recently gutted with about 60% of the staff being cut in CA. Another poster mentioned the revolving door, that is true. Employees that took months to find and hire are pushed out in weeks because they introduce new ways to think about persistent problems or they are treading on internal fiefdoms. Employees try to make decisions and then are railroaded from above leading to managerial paralysis. If you are the kind of employee that wants to make a difference, stay away. The only person whose job is safe is the one who keeps the revolving door oiled. There are divisions internally on the business plan and how it is being executed. Digital Health company INO. Company is moving from Menlo Park to San Francisco, we were given no input on this decision. As another post mentioned, option grants are beginning to look meaningless as the prospect of a down round of financing (or no financing at all) is looking likely given how unicorns with much better business plans are being slayed left and right.
