Pros
Some of the ICs I worked with were thoughtful, capable, and genuinely cared about the people the company claims to serve. The health benefits were okay
Cons
A concerning pattern I noticed was that problems were always attributed to people who had already left the company, rather than examined as possible issues with planning or management. You genuinly can see that attitude reflected in the five star reviews. Managers will admit things are chaotic at Promise. That's an excuse for them - they do not offer employees the same "grace".
I lost count of the amount of times my manager or a project manager lost their temper at ICs. Promise is not a collaborative or healthy environment to work.
All operational roles are a hire-to-fire pipeline. They hire for individual projects that last a few months, then try to wedge the employees into totally different roles or outright fire them. If they're hiring for your role, it's not to grow the team...
I saw multiple employees not even make it to their first day because of leadership's ego. The CEO prides herself in not treating engineers specifically with respect. The culture is cutthroat despite how Promise portrays itself.
