Pros

Despite the company being outrageously flawed with deceptive practices, a mental health professional can work toward providing effective support and services to children and families

Cons

This company operates like the mafia with ruffians as partners in lower level management and supervisors who are constantly threatening staff. From management to administration, the use of bullying and fear tactics are common practice. They do it with impunity as though it is the 1920s under an American mobster group. Providence Community Services largely does not support the needs of its constituents (children and families). The company is in the business of profiting from allocated state funds, with the assistance of a managed care operation: Community Care Behavioral Health (CCBH). It has a culture of favoritism toward some staff and rampant disregard and malice toward others. This operation is a cesspool for fraud and the use of resources in attempts to metaphorically kneecap anyone who dares to challenge the status quo is the business model. More to add (and there is so much more), the training provided is a joke. There is zero clinical oversight. Supervisors are not licensed and can not knowledgeably provide clinical supervision, even though they go by the title: “Clinical Supervisor.” Rules and policy change on the regular and there is a constant feeling of a ad hoc strategy in place. While other agencies decided against continuing in behavioral health services, under the pressure of new state licensing guidelines, this company, operating like an organized crime unit, stayed in the business and cornered the market, which makes it even more dangerous to the well-being of children and their families, the state’s budget, and uninformed tax payers’. It is milking the government of much needed funds for more ethical organizations with better outcomes for at risk youths and their families.

Pros

My favorite pros about working with this company during my time with them is due to the amazing colleagues that I got to work with. Management has been always great at finding and hiring people who can work well with each other to plan and execute objectives that are aimed to benefit and service our clients.

Cons

All of the management team, with the exception of a couple, are way too closed minded.

Pros

The families are wonderful and the reason I stayed so long. The flexible schedule was a plus.

Cons

Where do I start. the last year this company has gone down hill. It felt like there were gangs and if you weren't in that right gang then they were out for blood. There was the employees who work hard bust their butt and then those who would sit around commit fraud and gang up on those employees who do actually work. The office staff would complain to upper management and harass you until you "break mentally" It felt like an operant conditioning trial nothing was ever right and everything was threatened. "you will be written up for having 3 weeks of corrections in a 4 week period" no support a clinical supervisor doesn't clinically guide you but rather call you when you make a mistake. no recognition for staff who do go above and beyond. The trainings are a joke and not allowed to take your on because that would cost the company $$$ and don't spend $$$$ on employees to give better production. raises are not even a thought in this company. They wouldn't even work to motivate employees because it would cost $$. They are too focused on making $$$ instead of treating employees right so they would bring more $$$ in. Very high turnover.
