Pros

Good staff discount and perks.

Cons

Be prepared to be Micro- managed in every aspect of your role. Favoritism runs very deep at store level. Don't expect to get a matching raise when minimum wage goes up. For example, in the last 4 years minimum wage has gone up $4.10 and in the same time span with excellent performance reviews, I recieved $1.51. My position is worth less and less every year. Hours constantly getting cut back. They are always coming out with new spreadsheets to fill out, which take even more of our time.

Pros

I only worked here a couple months. Chill Job and shift. Typical expectations, nothing strenuous. Co-workers were nice and easy to chat with. The company itself is pretty nice, fairly generous discount and good training, product knowledge wasn't too deep. Good work life balance if working another job/in school etc. It's a chocolate store, quite fun to talk with guests about

Cons

The floor/store manager I worked with could have been better. A fair bit passive aggressive on most days even when not very busy. I also felt like I was walking on eggshells sometimes in the store I was working in (Toronto), where the store is very territorial and critical. Kind of like being in someone's else house and not being *fully* welcome per se. The store layout wasn't doing too many favors either I suppose, but expect some contradictory expectations on when to do something, what is good to do, how to sell to guests (even if they have the look of leave me alone). Catch 22, awkward power dynamics type situations were too common for my taste despite it being a fun chocolate store otherwise. I should also say, sometimes there are occasional long, dull hours, but not too bad I found.
