Pros
The medical model for seeing and helping patients is amazing! The health care is truly awesome and you can do great things with this type of model. If you are good with office politics and are up at HQ you can weasel into higher level positions in a relatively short amount of time. These will often be positions that you have absolutely no experience or really business being in. Then after you mess a few things up and learn the ropes take that experience and transfer to a better run company. (Happens all the time)
Cons
QuadMed is a very dishonest company. They are constantly trying to whitewash their mistakes to make it sound good... Major lack of transparency. Example: They will try to say their employee retention rate is great and up around 90% which maybe true if you are looking with in only one year of data. But if you look at a reasonable period to measure ie 3 years the employee retention rate is extremely poor. Top management is always changing so much that there is always someone new in a position trying to flex their little muscle. Their lack of racial diversity up at headquarters equals no respect for any populations that actually have some diversity. (their mother company has diversity but only in the plants, not in top leadership....and QuadMed echoes their screwed up culture)
