Pros

Remote positions, paid small amount quarterly for cell/internet

Cons

Everything. Leadership is awful and treat their employees like robots. There is a ton of secrecy and toxic gossip. Upper leadership shows favoritism and if you do something they perceive as wrong, you will be retaliated against and they force you out. They are sending most coding jobs overseas. No upward growth, was in same position for 4 years regardless of applying several times for jobs that I was qualified for, but I wasn’t leadership’s favorite. Pay is laughable. I left and got a huge bump in pay.

Pros

The voluntary separation offer was good.

Cons

I and hundreds of colleagues were transferred from Providence Health & Services to R1. We were told we were guaranteed our jobs for a year. They started offering voluntary separation packages less than a year in. This was suspicious. I didn't take the first couple of offers, but eventually I did - things were feeling uneasy. Since leaving I've heard that there were several layoffs. R1's India team has taken over a lot of the coding we were doing. In the reviews I read before we started with R1 I know losing jobs to the India team was common. I'm glad I left when I did but it's been hard finding a new job.
