Pros

Excellent benefit plan. Competitive bonus structure for head office roles. Generally good at hiring and promoting diversity up to middle management levels. Extremely large company, which means that there are usually opportunities for lateral job changes even when advancement options are not currently available.

Cons

Some departments have a "lifer" culture, with average employee tenures of 15+ years. This makes effecting real change challenging at times. Diversity (of all types) declines above the Director level. For all that there are investments in new technology (e.g. mobile banking), the majority of the bank runs on VERY old software that is utterly unappealing to hires straight out of school.

Pros

Stable work life balance. The culture is really great, very easy to work with complex management and managers. Willing to help you grow and learn with clients

Cons

Not a lot of room for growth unless you come in the door with that expectation. It can be very easy to get stuck in this role as your pay slowly increases and the job title mostly stays the same. Associate promotions and raises are rarely given and take a lot of coercion to get.
