Very stable but extremely boring Canada's bank - Systems Analyst RBC Employee Review

Pros

None for people who love doing staff. Unless you're contractor with a nice rate (from 75$), then it makes sense to bear with idiocy some time. But there are better places to spend time and gain experience. PS Coffee in the kitchen was more or less ok.

Cons

Low level of qualification of surrounding people (could be a specific group). However, based on conversation with other departments and organization - the level is pretty much the same. You'll have to explain most obvious, very basic staff to your co-workers and managers again, again and again. Outdated software. Cheap desktops. Cheap networking. I mean _really_ outdated and cheap (windows xp and 100 Mb office networks in 2014, anyone?) Cheap office space, especially in new towers. No TV in the kitchen, no newspapers, no ceiling. And youtube is blocked, can you imagine that?

Pros

Stable work life balance. The culture is really great, very easy to work with complex management and managers. Willing to help you grow and learn with clients

Cons

Not a lot of room for growth unless you come in the door with that expectation. It can be very easy to get stuck in this role as your pay slowly increases and the job title mostly stays the same. Associate promotions and raises are rarely given and take a lot of coercion to get.
