Pros
I don't believe the CEO is the monster that everyone makes him out to be. Ideas are often listened to and the work can be very enjoyable on occasion.
Cons
The CEO is mislead by his cohorts on a regular basis. There are various cliques that make cross-channel working very difficult. The print team does not support digital proficiency and such attitudes are encouraged by seniors. Certain managers and editors are clearly out for themselves rather than team players, and certain staff members have the CEO's ear over matters that should not land in their department. Blatant favouritism and various attributes of behaviour that would not be tolerated in any other place of work. Quite a bit of toxic masculinity that masquerades as banter. A complete lack of digital understanding means that contemporary placements are woefully underpaid for the workload involved, while others languish on high rates and have no comprehension of the world. Financial blindness runs amok. I was instructed to book a years' worth of my train commute at a moment's notice to appease someone throwing their toys out of the pram, and when I couldn't (lack of funds for such a wild purchase), they subjected me to unfathomable bullying before pursuing me across social platforms. I could write a book, but my advice is simply; don't do it. The company is not worth the stress. Don't undersell your time and line their pockets. Head somewhere else instead.
