Pros

Fun and positive work culture, the employees are friendly and extremely enthusiastic.

Cons

While initially presented as an entry-level marketing role, the job is heavily focused on sales activities, including direct selling and recruiting others to join the company. The company’s structure and methods resemble those of a multi-level marketing (MLM) organization, which was not made clear during the hiring process. This discrepancy between the job title and the actual duties was disappointing and did not align with my career goals. Additionally, the emphasis on recruitment and sales targets creates a high-pressure environment that may not be suitable for everyone. The morning meeting is a motivational speech followed by employees non-stop practicing the sales pitch for selling AT&T products. This is OK if you are looking for a sales job, but I personally was not looking for a sales job, even though it was heavily emphasized that sales are the “least important part of the job”.

Remark Acquisitions Response

Dear Reviewer, We would like to thank you for sharing your experience working with our team. We recognize that every interaction has the ability to be a learning experience and we welcome learning, growth and development here at our firm. As a company we focus on both sales and marketing endeavors. Our entry level roles involve both sales and marketing aspects. While, we do work practice sales that does not mean all companies that do sales quantify as Multi-Level Marketing. Multi-Level Marketing is it's own faction of sales, typically that requires the individual to cover the cost of any products they may sell before they can work with the firm and then sell said product to individuals within their personal network. The sales that we practice are direct to consumer within retail and we pay all our employees through the training process, at no point do they pay for products. When it comes to our job descriptions we do our best to be as transparent as possible while also being cognizant that the role is entry level and thus should not be filled with industry jargon and specifics. You are right that career goals at our firm are quite important and our team is driven to hit our goals; thus the role isn't necessarily for those that don't share some of these common goals of career growth and progression. We apologize that the role, wasn't a good fit for you and that is completely understandable as it is not for everyone, we understand that and we truly wish you the best of luck on your future pursuits.

Pros

This is my second sales job, but it doesn’t just feel like sales. The atmosphere/culture really makes work fun and enjoyable. While I was scared to come into another sales position what really drove me to see it through was the fact that theirs opportunities for management and leadership. While being capped off at my previews positions with pay and promotions, Remark is quite the opposite. The commission’s/ bonuses are limitless, but so are the opportunities to surround yourself with other entrepreneurs who are looking for growth in leadership fields.

Cons

once you work here you wouldn’t wanna work anywhere else
