Wrong approach to marketing an otherwise solid offer - Field Marketing Representative Resort Vacations Employee Review

Pros

Great people to work for, fun place to work, solid product.

Cons

The approach to marketing is a snatch and grab approach that is highly counterproductive. It does not involve warm leads, as promised. Customers are screened while signing up for a raffle for a yeti cooler. The spin the wheel to win a free vacation gives an impression of false promises. It is like pulling teeth to get people to come to the tour. It sets off all the warning bells that are associated with timeshare, then they come out of the tour relieved. Definitely under-promises and over delivers, which makes the reps job so much more difficult than it should be.

Pros

The pay is great considering how much you work... if you're good. There is flexibility with schedules and you can to meet all sorts of people and work all sorts of different locations. I've liked just about everyone I've ever met here and the managers are looking out for your success if you give an honest effort. If you're good at what you do, they will do whatever they can to retain you and move you up the ladder.

Cons

If you don't perform, it can be a struggle (but that's any job) since you won't get the best opportunities and shifts.
