At first I was very excited to take a job at KSMC, as I was offered a variety of experiences in addition to professional growth.
What I got was the exact opposite. One client experience, no manager-level concern for professional improvement, and a culture of favoritism that poisons the company from the inside.
Frankly, I have never worked for a company so ingrained in its own politics. The managing director has managed to develop a business that is entirely inclusive to sycophants, which indicates his desire for control. A year long attempt at scaling the business had failed, leading to the resignation of CFOs, Admins, and normal consultants (myself). The management team is extremely selective in regards to information shared with the rest of the company, which had made me extremely skeptical of the business practices as a whole.
They preach a "not a 9-5 business" that scores "ever-changing, interesting projects." However, if you aren't in the inner circle, prepare to be dumped to a cash-cow state contract in a project where poor performance isn't disciplined. I never again want to be part of a business where revenue relies on exploiting clients who aren't intelligent enough to realize the endless churn of "crises" is easy $$ for the company managing it.
Time and time again I tried expressing my concerns, asking for advice and new ventures to take part of. I was met with vague plans that turned out to be complete lies. Finally, upon turning in my resignation, I was met with a disappointing lack of professionalism. Not a single exit interview was scheduled (I received the "silent treatment" from my managing director, who previously told me that he "wanted to hear every concern" and would "keep [me] because [I] was a valuable asset." My manager didn't even shake my hand -- after 1.5 years of dedication to his project alone. Leaving this company was the best thing I could do for my career.
