Pros

Flexible work, growing organization,standing desks

Cons

Leadeship team so white, Performative DEI work, No voice for minorities, Clueless managers/ SPD, PD. Rat race to promote people every 2 years, affinity to Ivy league colleges, differential treatment for people of color. Most people cannot even tell what the organization does and most managers do not know how to manage conflict or with empathy.

Dear former employee — Thank you for your feedback regarding the need to improve diversity, equity (DEI) and inclusiveness at R4D. It is true that we can and must do better. Please know that R4D is fully committed to embracing and advancing DEI values, and we are taking active steps to ensure these values are reflected in our internal policies, recruitment, compensation, opportunities for advancement and our staff composition at every level, but especially in leadership roles. In 2017, R4D made DEI an organizational priority, but we did not set our goals high enough. We have recently revived our DEI work with a public commitment to anti-racist values and practices and a much more aggressive organizational action plan. Part of this will include addressing management issues through upward feedback channels, training and accountability mechanisms for following through. Again, thank you for taking the time to share your concerns. We appreciate this feedback.

Pros

Results for Development is a fantastic organization that truly prioritizes working with local agents of change to drive progress in nutrition, health, and education. The organization genuinely believes that understanding the local context is essential for designing appropriate, sustainable, and impactful solutions.

Cons

One area for improvement is ensuring that local change agents are fully involved in the design and conception of projects, rather than being engaged primarily as consultants during implementation. Meaningful co-creation from the outset would strengthen ownership, relevance, and sustainability
