Pros

Independent to manage the care schedule without excessive interference from management, in other words, know your client, manage your time and activities to meet the clients needs and management will leave you alone.

Cons

Mandatory training days on weekends, low pay, shift pay rather then hourly pay. Shift pay is fine provided you are paid at your hourly rate. Live in (24 hour shift) pay should be at 12 hour shift rate and not at a lower pay scale. They justify the lower pay scale when working a 24 hour shift because you have time to sleep in which case the night workers should always be at the lower rate since (from my observations anyway) that is what they do (sleep) most of the time. I did have the pleasure of working with one aide who actually worked at night when the client was awake.

Pros

Great office staff to work with. Client's were great to work with and it was nice making someone's day better through activities of daily living. You were placed with clients close to home.

Cons

Often had to drive to multiple client's houses in one day to make up a full days work. You were not remibersed for hours.

Pros

Compared to other senior care giver business' this is the worst I have worked for. Not sure of the other Right at home places, but the one in Skokie IL is the worst.

Cons

Pay is terrible for the amount of hard work that needs to be done to take care of the clients. High turnover at the Skokie IL location is really telling about how upper management treats their employees. Be weary of the rating system as the Skokie IL location will reach out to the reviewing site and take down negative reviews.
