Great team to work with

Sometimes it is challenging but great

I've worked different positions in different behavioral hospitals throughout the years and Rock Prairie gets a lot of things right. In my experience, direct staff genuinely care about patients. The grounds are clean. The facility is modern and very nice. There are very good systems in place and very detailed policies and procedures that make sense are centered around trauma informed patient care and safety. Two-way communication between entry level positions, middle management and senior leadership is encouraged. The pay is competitive and even better than in some other larger markets.

Behavioral health is a tough field to work in. It is easy to get burned out if you don't find a work-life balance. Leadership changes lead to culture change and many people don't like change for better or worse. It is hot and cold throughout different areas of the hospital which may not be unique to many large buildings but offices may be cold and hallways may be hot or vice versa. The soda fountain carries Pepsi, not Coca Cola.
