Pros

Easy commute from Calgary. You can use Stoney Trail.

Cons

The chief exec admin is abusive. She is unprofessional. She has gone through many different assistants without it ever being questioned why nobody is good enough for her. She gossips about private counsel matters. She speaks negatively about coworkers to others. She blames her errors on anyone around her. She is a bully that everyone recognizes but is never addressed my any of counsel. It is one of the worst places I have worked. I am 50 years old and have a significant amount of admin experience . I am good at what I do. I have never been treated so poorly. HR was aware of my concerns and did nothing to assist. This needs to be addressed.

Pros

Some great colleagues. Time off is not so bad either. Great to live in, but terrible to work for.

Cons

Where can I start? Executive management has turned for the worse. There's a culture of fear that's running through the organization. Many of the reviews recently are accurate. The Council is not supportive of staff, and they hired a new CAO who, well lets just say, the place has taken a turn for the worse. A culture of survival. I have seen so many good people go out the door. I'm not entirely sure why anybody would want to work at this place now. There are rumors of lewd behaviour between a senior administration member and a member on council. You can't make this up. There are different sets of rules for different folks. Also the reputation out in the public is horrendous - difficult to do business with, difficult to get ahold of staff,

Pros

Good crews, great shift work

Cons

Management has treated firefighters very poorly in the past. If they tried this job for 1 day, they would have far more respect and appreciation for what firefighters have to face.
