Pros
Brand association, modern offices, congenial and friendly people, extensive on-line training, stable employment and good career prospects in the main, they are making serious effort to improve diversity, outstanding early career programmes, lots of highly skilled and capable people in the business, strong order book.
Cons
Very risk averse culture and lack of pace. Promotion criteria often 'time served' rather than 'meritocracy'. Too many "lifers" who are institutionalised and following processes but not contributing value or moving with the times and who are still allowed to hang around another 10-15 years to collect their pensions whilst clogging the way for people who can ensure the company is fit for future. HR corporate is under-resourced so limited possibility to "get out in the business" or build relationships with operations managers etc. Job could have been amazing, it was a tough decision not to tread water for another couple of years until John Rishton's influence permeated to my seniors.
