Pros
I worked for Method Products and whilst I was there it was acquired by SCJ in 2017. Working for Method was great, they had a great mission, a BCorp certification and really was doing things differently in business and with their people all whilst doing good by the planet. I was also able to travel internationally to the US, Belgium and Germany. I was able to lead a number of projects and work with a range of talented people to gain experience.
Cons
As soon as SCJ came along, they literally sucked the life out of the brand and the company. Everyone left the company, we lost our BCorp certification and the product standards were lowered and made cheaper which in turn reduced the quality. SCJ also imposed their old school bureaucratic processes and leadership on to the company. You would think they are the United Nations in the way they used to treat everything so seriously and bully people. They literally just make average products, come back down to Earth. Let’s not mention the ego centric owner of SCJ who videos himself swimming in ocean plastic whilst his company greenwashes itself and is a big part of the problem.
